[PD] pix_yuv get blue spots with pix_buffer

2008-03-20 Thread Peter Forde

I'm using PD 0.38.4 on windows XP.

I am storing a large amount of images in pix_buffer from a camera input. When I
keep them in rgba the computer will not cope with it all and crashes so YUV
seems to be the best solution and it works.
Unfotunately when I change it to yuv through [pix_yuv] or [colorspace yuv( I
get lots of blue dots where it is dark.
Does anyone know how this might be happening.and what might solve it.
I saw in other threads there could be problems with the codecs but since I am
using pix_buffer there should not be a codec.
Any idea?
Thanks

[PD] Video DS 3/4 Contrast

2007-10-05 Thread Peter Forde

Hello Again,

I am running some live video from a security camera but my computer chugs a lot
at full Res. VideoDS is the perfect solution except I am looking for a happy
medium. Half is fast but too grainy and full is fine but too slow. Is there a
way to set a happy medium say 3/4 or test out any other variables ?

Also because I am using low light with Black White video I need to bump the
contrast so pix_movement can better read the changes. I am aware pix_movement
has a threshold but this is a variable I would like to play with after.

Thanks for all the support. I'm not sure if the eticate is to thank or not
after getting a reply.
I am very grateful.

[PD] Keybang for Gem in Fullscreen

2007-10-03 Thread Peter Forde

Helo,

I am trying to run a fullscreen video system. I need to ocasionaly change a
value without jumping out of the Fullscreen Gem window. It seems to select the
Gem window instead and so the keybang is lost.
Any suggestions.?

Thanks

[PD] 4 video and audio problem

2007-04-23 Thread Peter Forde
Hey guys and gals,

I've mostly been using Gem with PD and so have not the best understanding of
the audio use.
I have set up a patch that uses the mouse to fade between the video and
audio of 4 selected pieces. My computer can almost achieve this but I get
audio drop outs and with longer clips it slows down.
The videos are squashed to 360x288 with no compression or audio. The audio
is wav format at 44100.

I am using a a Windows XP Toshiba with 1.83GHz processor and 0.99 GB RAM.
Could someone check my patch to see if there is any obvious way of speeding
it up or will my computer just not accept this. I plan on having four 5
minute vid and audio pieces to fade between.

Thanks Again. :)

[PD] Gemwin as Capture Driver to use in other software

2007-01-31 Thread Peter Forde

Hello List,

Is it possible to export the gemwin to other software in real-time. It seems
to there are other softwares that can screen record and send this on such as
Softcam, this uses up too much CPU and is highhly unstable. I just need
another programme on the same machine to accept gem's output as an input..

Is it possible to turn it into a capture driver. If this was so the other
software might recognise it.
I need to be able to run Pd through another resolume so that in a live
environment I can jump between one setup and the other without effecting the
2nd display's output.

I am running on WinXP and Pd extended 38.2.

Thanks a lot.
