hmm.
afaik (and i might be wrong), the only thing that uses artoolkit right
now is Gem.
so the only reason (right now) to have artoolkit available on the w32
build machine, is that you want to build Gem on that machine.
does this mean that you have Gem ready to autobuild?
(i'm pretty sure that _i_ haven't spent a second on this issue in the
last month).
if not, you will most likely include the Gem binary from
http://gem.iem.at, which to my knowledge has artoolkit support built
in.

So you have artoolkit support in the Windows build?

provide the models to use with it if possible. I am finding it
 rather cloudy
as how to use OSGart with it. BUt this begs a few questions.

Is there a working pix_artoolkit and how should i proceed to build it?
Do i need GEM sources etc?
Can someone comment or point to a way to use GEM with ARToolkit
 properly?
I would love to replace that HIRO with something awesome :-)

Are there any other ways to use ARToolkit with pd already other than
 pix_?

Also has anyone used OpenSceneGraph here on list? i know it's OT a
bit but it works very well for large scale databases and integration
 with pd/GEM would be wonderful

Just download the Pd-extended for macosx104/intel and drop it in /
Applications. Its named differently, so you can have both at the same

Yay progress!

Well, once you get this scrounged help patch working, could you post
the files so we can include them in the Gem svn? Ideally, they would
be posted to the Gem patch tracker.

It seems you need to have a camera_para.dat and patt.hiro. Do you
have those?

Maybe we could include your help patch with Gem? There is currently
none that I know of. I can check it in if you are ok with that.

The powerpc build machine is still down. I think I managed to get a
complete backup of the old machine before the disk totally died.
Now I need to find a time to put that backup on a new disk and
install it in the machine.

Anyone running Mac OS X 10.4/PowerPC want to try a build?

Just download the Pd-extended for macosx104/intel and drop it in /
Applications. Its named differently, so you can have both at the

time, you can have them both runniung too.

IOhannes and I have been recently working on getting it part of the
Pd-

fix things before the release. For Mac OS X, its now included in
the

nightly builds as of today:

If someone gets it going, then I'll package artoolkit for Debian/

Hi, sorry for just repeating what has been said before, but I also can't
get pix_artoolkit to work on ubuntu hardy 8.04. Is there any progress at

using the patch contained in

different cameras, video drivers, resolutions and settings but no
markers are recognized.

[PD] Artoolkit

2008-10-29 Thread mark edward grimm
Hello,

I am just wondering if there has been any progress on Artoolkit (help-files,
compiling on osx, etc.) the last thread on this I found was:

http://lists.puredata.info/pipermail/pd-list/2008-05/062513.html

and then the conversation seemed to end. And i still get this:

error: [pix_artoolkit]: compiled without ARToolKit support!
... you might be able to track this down from the Find menu.

When creating object. Is that supposed to be?

Thanks!

[PD] ARToolkit and libqrencode for Gem

2008-03-11 Thread Hans-Christoph Steiner

I just found these download on the page of Shigeyuki Hirai, who does
the Max/MSP port of Gem. He has two interesting objects that
shouldn't be to hard to get working in Pd, since they are already Gem
objects.

http://www.cc.kyoto-su.ac.jp/~hirai/softwares/index-j.html

One is pix_qrencode which is based on libqrencode, which lets you
read those 2D barcodes.

The other is pix_artoolkit, which is based on ARToolkit, which is a
type of code to stick on things that you can then track in 3D space
using Gem.

Just throwing that out there in case anyone is interested.

thanks hans for posting this :)
I also want to add that there are two very cool objects pix_jit2gem and
pix_gem2jit on that site. the only missing link right now to (hopefully)
connect pd/gem and jitter is pix_share_write, which is not available in
the max version of gem.
or are there any other ways to share gpu textures between jitter and
gem? maybe using glsl?

I just found these download on the page of Shigeyuki Hirai, who does
the Max/MSP port of Gem. He has two interesting objects that
shouldn't be to hard to get working in Pd, since they are already Gem
 objects.

One is pix_qrencode which is based on libqrencode, which lets you
 read those 2D barcodes.

The other is pix_artoolkit, which is based on ARToolkit, which is a
type of code to stick on things that you can then track in 3D space
 using Gem.

Just throwing that out there in case anyone is interested.

well, at least his one has been backported to Gem in late 2006.

people seem to not know this.

What would be the best way to include this into Gem and/or Pd-
extended, if it isn't already?

davide morelli was working on pix_artoolkit_plus (using digitals markers -
way more precise). i wanted to submit it to google summer of code last year:
