Re: [PD] Download a list of packages (Deken)

2017-09-27 Thread Alexandre Torres Porres
Hi, I wouldn't see much purpose in that, despite maybe having a quick way
to find out all that there it's uploaded to deken, and then browse them one
by one to see what they're worth for...

Maybe another approach would be to have a resource to document all these
libraries/externals that are up there. And then people can browse and
download/check what they're interested in.

just a thought

cheers

I was trying really hard to trigger the freeze, but wasn't able to. The
most I got was a the GUI being stuck for a second, but it never froze
for good. This is slightly exciting. Will see how to next session goes

[PD] Download a list of packages (Deken)

2017-09-27 Thread abel . jerome
Hi,

Sorry for the last mail...

I'm trying to get URLs of libraries for each platform, download them and unzip
them. The idea is to make a big package for each platform.

Bash scripts first steps :
http://reso-nance.org/public/pd-malinette/packages-scripts/pd-package-scripts.zip

I've use http://deken.puredata.info, but may be there is a better way. I've
wrote an "externals.txt" file with my libraries for each platform and I get the
urls after.

Report : It is very hard to get the right URLs for each platforms and
architectures. For instances, libraries names are "iemlib-v0.0.extended" or
"iemlib-v0.0extended" ..

An easiest way could be to name last stable libraries with "latest" for
instance, but I don't know how hard is it to implement for developers. I think
we need to top the best package for each library for each platform.

Thanks. I cannot test as easily on Window as I can on Linux. I only
have Windows as virtualized system and I run out of CPU a lot before I
trigger the issues at hand. Is there a git branch containing the fix or
some other access to the source? I could copy over the changed source

well, if you want to compile your own gem externals then you need to

If you remove the gem package, you also can't install all the

As Pd uses Tk for it's guis, check the available Tk cursor names:
http://www.tcl.tk/man/tcl8.5/TkCmd/cursors.htm

There are a few that are system dependent.

I don't know of any other way to change the cursor type other than sysgui
and *configure -cursor*. Also I don't know what you mean by pdsend
finished. I guess in the end this might be system dependent and probably a
tcl version thing that I simply don't know ;) all my knowledge here comes

Re: [PD] trouble with pd-0.48-0 and multiple screens

2017-09-27 Thread Raphaël Ilias
Hi,

I tested the mac build given by Dan :
http://docs.danomatika.com/pdbuilds/Pd-0.48-1-multimonitor.app.zip

It works here !

My setup again :
- MBP 2012 with mac OS X Yosemite 10.10.5
- second monitor set on the left of laptop/main screen.

I can place a subpatch window on the left/second monitor, close it, and it
when I click the subpatch to open it again, it appears at its previous
position, on the left screen (and not in the nowhere limbo anymore).
I attach my test patch, not sure that makes sense

Thank you very much !
(sorry Dan for making wait, as I told you, I don't have access everyday to
the studio where I have a second monitor... sometimes my life is not so
hightech !)

I'm not familiar with git-thing (I spent ten minutes wondering what PR
stands for) so I don't know if I tested the updated version of IOhannes.

thanks everyone, this will be very helpful here soon when I will be back
working on big patch with many windows...

bye

Raphaël

That's my question:
On Linux, installing Gem via Deken is not enough, we need installing it with
"apt-get".

Goal:
I want to know the installation process in order to compress a Pd project for
other computers with no need steps of installation. I hope it is possible to
share Pd projects using Gem with just .zip directory.

To get help it is :
$ pd -help
See :
$ man pd

There is no option with --

But, yes the option -help disappeared on my Pd-0.48.0 ("test5") (Ubuntu
17.04).
And if you start Pd with a wrong option, Pd start and return in the
terminal :
usage: pd [-flags] [file]...
...
with all options available.

Re: [PD] Gem on Linux needs apt-get install ?

2017-09-27 Thread abel . jerome

After removing gem linux package, this error message appears in Pd - verbose
mode : "Gem.pd_linux: libftgl.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such
file or directory"

When I "sudo apt-get install libftgl2", it is ok.

Re: [PD] trouble with pd-0.48-0 and multiple screens

2017-09-27 Thread Dan Wilcox
As a followup, please test this possible solution:
Pd-0.48-1-multimonitor.app.zip

I spent time on fixing this so I would like to at least get a confirmation from
those that posted the initial thread.

I noticed this as well. Don't remember it happening until 0.48. Annoying.

Please could you provide errors returned by Pd console log 4 (all), while
running '-verbose'?

[PD] Command line pd --help launches pd

2017-09-27 Thread Jérôme Abel

Hi,

I don't know if it is a normal behavior, when I type "pd --help" in a
Terminal, Pd is launched.

Usually this kind of command just print the help.

Re: [PD] how to change the cursor icon (tcl)

2017-09-27 Thread Dan Wilcox
As Pd uses Tk for it's guis, check the available Tk cursor names:
http://www.tcl.tk/man/tcl8.5/TkCmd/cursors.htm

There are a few that are system dependent.

[PD] Gem on Linux needs apt-get install ?

2017-09-27 Thread Jérôme Abel

Hi,

On new Ubuntu computers, I've installed Gem via Deken (find externals),
but it was not enough. I need also to install it with apt-get install
gem. Some dependencies seems required, may be opengl libs ?
