Very few snaps from the navigation day, but here are a few from the village

(http://www.bbc.co.uk/villagesos/), and they had a food fair on the
Saturday, so I took a few snaps of that. Nothing great, but very typical of
such places. While waiting for the bus on Monday I took some pictures -
probably too many - in the parish church, which is very large for such a
place, but very attractive. In fact, they have more churches than pubs. But
the pubs had more people in them.

I don't see a lot to criticize here. It's a good photo of a tough
subject. I guess there are few lonelier places for a down-and-outer
than a big city (maybe that's Ann's irony?) and if that's what you set

GFM: I'm not going again

2011-05-12 Thread Cory Waters
I'm sad to say that I've given up my spot at Grandfather Mountain again
this year. We've got so much going on leading up to that weekend and
are planning a trip to Michigan later in June. I just can't justify the
trip to N.C. this time.

I will say that we, as a group, should not let this year's apparent lull
in GFM attendance turn into a normal thing. It is a really special
weekend and a tradition we should endeavor to keep in our little world.

I'll try again next year.

Cory

I don't see a lot to criticize here. It's a good photo of a tough
subject. I guess there are few lonelier places for a down-and-outer
than a big city (maybe that's Ann's irony?) and if that's what you set
out to capture, you've done it very well.

Personally, I'd have probably converted it to monochrome, but it
certainly works as presented.

Very good photo!

cheers,
frank

You would have made a fine polygamist. Nice Comeback Steven!

I tried, but the wife talked me out of it with an aluminum bat.

Nice! Even has the scuffs in the leather. But no clouding in the finder!
