PESO: fungi season

2021-11-23 Thread Henk Terhell
Slowly the real fungi season is reaching its end. I wonder what the winter
will offer me to photograph.
Recently I started using Affinity Photo for focus stacking instead of a
plugin to LR.

Next week the SLV Post is going to be doing a short bit on my photography.
Since my photos are already on display at Johnny’s Harborside, I’ll be doing a
reception on Dec 4th, from 2:30 until about 4:30. Come by, say hi, I’ll also
have some of my other work with me for the reception.

The facebook event is:

With the 50-135/2.8 on the Pentax it might be lighter. That’s been my walk

Re: Pentax or Olympus?

2021-11-23 Thread John Francis

It's here!

See http://panix.com/~johnf/temp/NewestToy.jpg

That's a 40-150 on the OM-D, and the 60-250 on the K5,
which is about as close a comparison setup as I can get.

The Olympus rig is only a little lighter than the Pentax;
while the lens is significantly lighter (even though it's
f2.8, not f4), the OM-D body is actually quite a bit heavier
than the K5. (The K3 is heaver than the K5, too, but still
significantly lighter than the OM-D M1X, even with a grip).

I haven't seen any results from it yet - it was dark by the
time the batteries were charged and I'd done the initial
setup (the user manual is almost 700 pages, and they don't
even supply you with a printed copy!).

One thing I am going to miss, though, is Hyper Program mode.
But the body is covered with a myriad buttons, most of which
can be programmed; there may be a way for me to set one up
to toggle between shutter priority and program mode, which
is what I mostly used Hyper Program for.
