I like that a lot better. The overall view of it is happier, Ann's
comment about lightening it a bit was a good one, and now the red flower
has more presence. I like that the white flower is brighter as well.

I like this presentation.

That's pretty much what I do, but I set to sRGB because the raw file doesn't
care, but I get one more letter for filename customization.
ProPhoto is the widest gamut available, sRGB is the smallest.

See:
https://learn.zoner.com/srgb-prophoto-rgb-and-more-do-you-know-your-color-spaces/

ProPhoto handles cyan much better. That being the opposite of red, reds benefit.
Of course, when we convert to sRGB, all that nice cyan information is gone and
the reds saturate and block up and all seem to be the same shade.
And that is why the red flower needed a little help for the web.

At least, that's what I understand how it works.

I’m pretty sure that when I looked yesterday the price of the K-3iii was $1700.
Today I went, was looking also at the refurb prices, was ready to buy one, but
couldn’t. While I was trying to figure that out their website went down, when
it came back up the K-3iii was back to $2000, so a trade in would have been
more expensive than B etc.

Long story short, they’ve got open box units (no trade in) for $1500 which is
what I ordered. They also have some demo units for $1200, but they don’t have
a warranty. I’ve sent enough Pentax gear in for repairs over the years that
WTF, I sprung for the warranty.

Now the waiting for it to arrive. After that, the waiting for a chance to play
with it.

I've been using Malwarebytes for years, both on my computer and my phone.
It's caught a few things before they slip through.
What I like about it as an anti-virus is it looks for virus like activity,
so it isn't necessarily playing the whack a mole game that a lot of them
play.

I have been using Malwarebytes on my photo computer for years. It has not
caused any problems, but also has not detected anything, even though I have it

OT malwarebytes

2023-02-28 Thread David J Brooks
I follow a Mac site on FB and often when someone has an issue they suggest
running the free malwarebytes program. Does anyone have any thoughts on
this program or use it.

I'm running an 11 year old machine on OS10.11.6 and can't upgrade the OS
anymore nor can I upgrade my FF browser, nor Safari, past current
version's. I'm just getting somewhat concerned.
Which is what I do, worrying about things.:-)
