Be aware that Rt 221 is washed out between the parkway and GFM. You can only reach the mountain from the Linville side (Rt 105) at the moment. I have arrived at my friend's cabin in Ashe county. Contrary to predictions I experienced only a few light sprinkles of rain on the way down from Harrisburg.
