DA 21 looks like a great, althought not as great as 31 lens. Here are
quite interesting full reviews of discussed (and many more) Pentax

Oh yes, it is a terrific bit of glass. You won't regret it (until the FF

I'm finding them to be pretty interchangable. I wish my silver 77 hadn't
dissapeared, I've done business with Dave. He actually pays for stuff rather
than coming up with rather unbelievable stories (I hesitate to call the guy
a liar outright) about how everything gets lost in the mail.

I've done business with Henry's several times. I'm sure that if you
call them they'll be happy to take care of you. This transaction has
gone on far too long to be sensible.

One based on my experience with both, yes. I was very happy with the
FA77. I'm happier still with the DA70.

The DA70 suits me better (size, weight, shorter focal length, and
quickshift), and performs identically to all intents and purposes.

Well, perhaps, but you didn't claim two cheques got lost in the mail, and
then the item itself as lost in the mail upon return

I was at least semi-jocular...

Indeed, it's been told by your and other sources that DA70 is good
performer which I have no intent to deny.

It is just that your suggestion to cancel an order for 77 Ltd was a
bit... how to put it... categorical...

Again, I am at least half-kidding ;-).

Kidding or not ...

If there was no alternative, I'd hang on to the order until Henry's
gave up on it. But Dave's been waiting for that lens for, what, four/
five months now? That's ridiculous when there is a suitable
alternative which performs equally well or better, and that is easily
available.

Unless you just want an FA77 and have no need/desire to take
pictures, I wouldn't give it a second thought: Cancel and switch.

DA 21 mm F3.2 AL Limited. $549

Looks tiny, weighs only 140 grams. Might be great as a

as a mild tele and I'd have all I need.

I've been shooting with this lens since last August, probably
2500-3000 exposures by now. It's a winner.
