I just use a regular plastic body cap, it's easier to feel ok throwing
it back into the bag when I attach a real lens ;)

I tend to carry my #2 body with my DA40 bodycap.

I always carry my second body with just a cap on it. Frequently I pack both
bodies in my Pelican case with just caps and pack all the lenses separately.

While the narrator says that it is the second body, in those cases,
it is clearly not the case. (Other footage where it is is
 intermixed with this though.)

So, I was wondering if anybody would be carrying the only camera
body in a messenger bag (when, presumably, you want to be able
to take it out and use quickly) - separate from any lens.
If yes, - what would be the reason why you'd do that?

The only possible argument I can see is that it would be quicker
to choose the lens (so that you don't need to detach what you
have on first). I'd think that it'd be better to have something
always attached, - at least you'd be more prepared for ~50% of
shots (if you carry two lenses).

 What do you think?

When I was flying a lot, on the job, I carried my photo equipment in an
aluminum Haliburton case that was secure, non deformable and always fit in the
overhead. I carried a body, with cap on, a lens or two, flash, rolls of film,
close up diopters and file folders related to the work at hand.

I still have the case that I haven't used in years - anyone interested in it?

so is a bigger pack.
