I think he should whack it with a sledge hammer and then post the
 results.
Can we get a bit of peer pressure happening please?

If you are going to smash it, could you remove the ISO setting mechanism
and rewind crank, I kind of bunged it up on an ME-SE and it would be
almost mint otherwise.

During a war you get to drive tanks through the sides of buildings

Go ahead you know you want to smash it to bits! Or better yet, shoot it
with a .50 sniper rifle! (just get it on video please)

Agreed. Violent destruction. But since it's a Pentax, you should do
it respectfully. Funeral pyre. Light that baby up!

If he whacks it with a sledge hammer, he needs to make an MPEG movie of it,
and post it so we can see it flying apart.

Compromise? Was-- Not so good this time.

Hows about I take it apart (respectfully) into a zillion pieces,
lay them all out, then post a pic of that?
That should satisfy those with a penchant for destruction.
And those that need to know just HOW MANY pieces it *would*
have flown into.

That way I can use the circuit board to fix another one and
Peter can have his parts.

Besides, I'm out of duct tape.
I used it all on the cat.
It stopped it from chasing my hamster.

there's no fun in that Don!! Wouldn't you think that providing a laugh to
hundreds of people in many international locations would be a bigger
priority than some crummy circuit board fix thingy? hehe. ;)
