I think Viewbug is one of those sites where YOU are the product *AND* you have
to pay them for the privilege of your work used without compensation.

Flickr is still my preference as it doesn't limit the format/size of your photos
and the groups function gives you many possibilities to find people with common
interests of subjects.

For $66/y I've got there now 60 GB of photos (> 8 K) with unlimited storage.

Many years ago I tried 1x.com and they managed to piss me off with

lifetime ban which was the primary reason to remove all my photo's.

I now use 500px on and off and haven't decided on instagram.

Re: OT: Viewbug

2020-12-01 Thread Bruce Walker
I have no direct experience with them, but they must have just
launched a campaign to get new signups because I was among many who
got an email from them recently.

"My name is Samamtha, content editor at viewbug. I saw your photos
and would love to feature your work."

I can tell right away something's amiss. It's unlikely that a popular
photography site, having seen my photos, would still want to feature
them.

They've been around for many years, that much I know. They have
co-sponsored contests with some photography-related companies since
the 2000's.
