So glad to hear the stock turned out... I've finished my diiner too... turkey wings, cornbread stuffing (cooked next to the wings) smothered in gravy at table, cup of pureed green veggie soup.. cranberry pie was not a complete success but good enough and I'll have it with ice cream in a while.. I have approximately 3 cups (0.71L) of stock, a quart freezer bag of stewed turkey I can use to make soup and about a cup of puréed carrots, celery & scallions for another soup base ... Turkey necks have a lot of meat on them. I do hope all y'all enjoy the day as much as I have. I'm going to try to make "stock" for a cooking base for soups and sauces. I couldn't find the recommended chicken necks & backs (didn't look too hard, Wegmans's didn't have them) so I got two turkey necks. I had carrots & celery on hand. No onions, but shallots are basically onions, so I used them. No sage, but I got rosemary & I have parsley, so that's gonna be it. In the crock pot on low with enough water to cover it.
