PESO: Bald Eagle -attempt
Been fantasizing about a dramatic Bald Eagle catch since moving near a location with many habitat choices. This isn't it, but has encouraged me. Small heavily cropped file that gave me at least a dramatic wing position and, I feel, complimentary clouds. Shot 40 frames from the time I spotted it perched in a tree 'til it became a tiny black dot. That is a very good image. I like the position of the bird and the detail in the wing-tip feathers (I forgot the technical term for them). Re: PESO: Bald Eagle -attempt
Lovely bird. If you can catch him at the right time of day for the sun to hit him from behind you with the clouds still there it'll really be dramatic. :) On 12/31/10 10:13 AM, Jack Davis jdavi...@yahoo.com wrote: Been fantasizing about a dramatic Bald Eagle catch since moving near a location with many habitat choices. Re: PESO: Bald Eagle -attempt
Thanks, Liz! I first say him perched in a tree behind a few small branches. I tried a few shots through the passenger window, then got out and placed a bean bag on the hood for a couple. He was probably 100 yds away and there was a trail leading in his direction, but as I stepped around the rig he immediately flew. As he took off, he did a wing over showing me his back with both wings straight out. The sun lit him up and he was at his closest point from me. I DIDN'T GET ON HIM SOON ENOUGH..eeehhh!!! He then landed in another tree about 150 yds away, hesitated for a moment and took off, offering me this view..among many others. I kept shooting 'til he was a tiny black dot.
