I'd reshoot it with maximum DoF - possibly shooting at different focus settings and amalgamating the images to provide as much focus across the subject. If not possible, I would concentrate focus on the majority of the 'cone' part at the top. 3. The stem has a burnt out highlights - edit or reshoot. PESO: Coneflower
The echinacea is commonly called the coneflower, but I don't usually use that name. When he petals are at their best, the central seed pod is pretty flat. I'm not sure I understand your suggestion, Toine - stacking fewer images would put more of the image out of focus, at even at f5.6 (aperture used for both images) the in focus bad is very narrow and drop off almost immediately. Thanks, Alan - I was half expecting to find some tiny mite or something on the flower. Thankfully not. The tiny drops of sap (I assume that is was it is) were a surprise to me, though.
