If it's anything like the 150AW I think you'll find the tripod holder is tucked 
away behind the water bottle pocket, hidden like the all weather cover. That 
brings the tripod down so that its strap is at a sensible height.



Alas, no.  Great idea though.

You did just prompt me to discover that the backpack belt unvelcros. 
That makes the bag easier to use when I don't need the belt.
