Re: October PUGgery now up!!
Thanks, Don just getting to see your comment now andyour comment is an example ofwhy I don't think we should call something funny pre-viewing. I had taken other purely scenic shots from that spot but the reason for the one in the PUG was to me a comment on how severe but selective the winds were in Tornado alley and hoped the response to the photo would be a chuckle.. Darren , Brian and Rick producedthe ones I likedbest - question for Darren: is that a haboob? My photo was taken not far from where I had seen threatening skies , borderline tornadic butit stayed in the distance and at the golden hour I had a nice rest stop , though rather pestered by skeeters. ann On 10/7/2015 11:59 AM, Donald Guthrie wrote: Gosh I thought the group did a great job with a tough concept. Re: October PUGgery now up!!
Thanks to all for who mentioned "The Sand Sower". Another enjoyable gallery and thanks to Brian for his work in assembling. My favorite of the bunch this month was Pat's "Sailing off Arran". A beautiful image of a beautiful scene. I liked Brian's "White-Bellied Sea Eagle" a lot. Only wish it had a bit more room around it. Super sharp and love the textures in the wood and the wind bent feathers. Sticking with the "Eagle" theme,I liked Ken's "Eagle Harbor Lighthouse" (and remember it as a PESO). Thanks Bulent. I enjoyed taking the image even tho the rain was at times coming sideways & it was cold even for an October day in the Upper Peninsula, but with the right clothes it was tolerable. Great gallery as usual, but my two favourites just were Wind Power by Dan Matyola & The Sand Sower by Darren Addy. Thanks for the mention Rick, and I'll have another look at how that could be improved. When I went down there to take that picture, I could hardly stand up in the wind. It remained windy until the exact moment the tripod was set up, and I then had to stand and wait for another 30 minutes for the wind to pick up again. I'd give Darren's "Sand Sower" the nod as my favorite this month. Ken's "Lighthouse" is close behind, but lists to the left. Malcolm's "Thistles" is also close behind, though the shot could use a bit more contrast. I love looking at the PUG. Thanks, Brian!
