Thanks to all for the comments. The day certainly would have benefited from some (reserved) flash fill. This photo jumped out at me from the many I took that day. In analyzing WHY I like it, I think the subtlest reason I like it is the gentle (and elongated) S shaped lines that repeat all over the image.
