Intriguing Marco - and as minimal as most of Dag's work!
Might prefer a tad more lightness and contrast, for me.

The two chimneys suggest it's a fossil fuel power plant.

For me, the image was about the juxtaposition of the enormous sky and
the endless sea with the tiny power plant down in the corner

Re: PESO - Power Drive Revisited

2012-05-09 Thread jn289
George, A nice set of photos. I had photo assignment years ago at a
college in downtown Philadelphia to photograph a car like the ones
you have on your page.

When I find it. I will put it up..Joe http://photo.net/photos/pjjdxn

The annual Power Drive final competition is coming up in May. High
School students from all over the region spend the year designing and
building electric cars. The day starts early with safety inspections,
performance trials and ends with several races.

This is a photo from 2011. While going over last years photos I
decided to reprocess this one with Lightroom 4. If I hadn't already
been convinced to upgrade, this result would have pushed me over the
edge. The new process engine pulled out much more color and detail.

I think this may be the first time I've linked a photo from google+.

It is dark. The people and cars are in silhouette. I was happy with
the way lightroom 4 brought out the colors in the sky and the texture
in the parking lot. I also like the the people and cars have a nice
backlit rim light. That's where I saw the most difference between 3
and 4.

I see what you were aiming for and agree the texture in the pavement
is very nice. I guess it would have more appeal to me if there had
been more detail in the people and cars. Just a personal view.

Re: PESO ~ Power ~

2009-07-13 Thread Francis

It must be my monitor that's waked then. :-(
(I have yet to cough up the considerable amount of cash for a
calibrating setup.)

I didn't really choose any tone (I spend to much time on the computer
trying to decide these things), I just left it more or less how it was,
plus a bit of highlight recovery in LR.

Thanks everyone!

Francis

PS. It wasn't quite as dangerous as it sounds having bare feet because
there was nothing but blue sky and bright moon over where I was, the
lightening was a good 5-10 miles away.
