X-Ray machines and *ist-D

2004-02-19 Thread bucky
Any potential damage to a digital sensor as in the *ist-D from airport X-ray
machines? I assume not, but would rather be sure. After all, someone here has
demonstrated permanent change in the sensor from exposure to the sun's image.

TIA,

Mike

The high powered versions will can fry the electronics, not just the sensor.
Don't pack it in checked luggage, and I'd ask for a hand check since I believe
some of the new machines for carry on can be dialed up much higher than the
old ones.

Two days after buying the D I went on a three week trip to Oz with it and my
Optio. countless flights and x-ray machines later and I have no issues.

DO NOT PACK IT IN CHECKED BAGGAGE is my only advice.
