The stand-alone update agent in Mdk10 works a lot like the Red Hat network daemon and the update feature in Mandrake Control Center is reliable and easy. They aren't quite as capable when compared to the Debian tools but they do work well. ___ PDXLUG mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://pdxlug.org/mailman/listinfo/pdxlug

The Dag repository looks really complete. The only thing I don't like about RC2 (as opposed to Debian or Gentoo) is that I had a hard time finding some packages for it. I finally found everything I needed though. The Dag repository looks like it has a ton of stuff.. -Cory If you install DAGs apt.#.#.rpm it will setup some of the repositories for you in: /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ There is also ATrpms http://atrpms.net/ Dries http://dries.studentenweb.org/apt/index.html Flash plugin (will setup your browsers with flash) :-) http://sluglug.ucsc.edu/macromedia/ ..those are some helpful ones that I also recommend. [PDXLUG] FC2
Hi Once again thanks for all the advice. I think perhaps I really should resolve the dual boot situation before I proceed any further, and I will definitely be giving some serious thought to pdxcolo.net. As far as FC2 is concerned I will probably investigate one or two other distros (Gentoo etc) before I commit myself.
