[PECL-DEV] Adding var_representation as a PECL

2021-06-16 Thread tyson andre
Hi,

My recent RFC to add var_representation to core failed 9-10 recently with
conflicting objections.

I'd like to add this as a PECL.
Are there any objections?

Repo: https://github.com/tysonandre/var_representation (functionality is as
described in that RFC)
Motivation: https://wiki.php.net/rfc/readable_var_representation#introduction
(much more readable output, faster than userland, etc.)
Potential future scope:
https://wiki.php.net/rfc/readable_var_representation#future_scope
(plans for PECL functionality are limited to generating/outputting machine or
human readable representations of values)
Proposed PECL name: var_representation

My PECL account is https://pecl.php.net/user/tandre - I'm a lead on the
igbinary, ast, and runkit7 projects

Thanks,
Tyson

[PECL-DEV] introduction

2021-06-16 Thread Samuel Remis
Hi there,

I'm one of the devs on the PHP SDK for AWS, and wanted to introduce myself
because I'll be working with Damian on the CRT extension. This is the
codebase I maintain: https://github.com/aws/aws-sdk-php, and will be
integrating with the AWS CRT extension here:
https://github.com/awslabs/aws-crt-php.

I have approved the account request. Happy PECLing! :)

I suggest to wait for some days until you register the new
package/upload a release; maybe others have something to say here. And
also, please start with a pre-release then.

From a quick glance, this looks good to me. I suggest you apply for a
PECL account[1] (probably you won't need a PHP account).
