As textbooks become more conservative and less topical I find that Dollars and Sense readers are more useful than ever in my undergraduate classes. Dollars and Sense has done a valuable service in keeping them jargon-free, up to date, and inexpensive -- as well as consistently and thoughtfully progressive. I recommend them highly. You need supplemental material on income and wealth distribution, exploitation and alienation and economic justice to go along with that text because Schiller does very little -- not that any other intro text does more.
