 hehe.., can explain haaa..?

err... have no idea, probably the different is not significant.
cam active crossover passive crossover la
probably the efficiency is the main question here.
kalau untuk company, beli active la hehe... (company kan duit banyak hehee)
kalau untuk sendiri pakai, beli passive la (jimat duit untuk belanja awek
makan hehe)

because your 4gb hdd is the old type of hdd and your 18gb hdd is the LVD hdd.
LVD hdd doesn't support termination on the hdd itself normally using TE jumper,
so the only solution is that
you have to buy external scsi termination device - cost arround RM 75-130
it's because even scsi card doesn't support LVD scsi hardisk, the LVD hdd can
be configured to act as non-LVD hdd.
please note that external terminator have two types, active and passive, the
active is much more expensive and if you use it for server, I suggest you buy
the active terminator.
good luck.

Siapa pernah guna scsi adapter seperti diatas..?
Ini kerana.., aku mempunyai masalah menggunakanya. erronya :
"Insufficient termination detected on a 68-pin (wide) connector of your
 AHA - 2940UW Pro"
Aku nak pakai dua scsi hardisk. satu 4G dan lagi satu 18G. Kalau aku attach
4G sahaja.., no problem.., tapi bila attach yang 18G punya.., keluar erro
 seperti diatas..?
sesiapa yang ada panglaman seperti diatas..? cuba bagi pertolongan sikit

the easiest way is to introduce private ip to your local network.
You need to have something like firewall which handles Fowarding and
Masquerading

Internet--Router-Firewall---Local Network(10.X.X.X) Network Here
is using Masquerading Rules
|
Server Network (Real IP Number, ie:
202.188.55.X/27) Network here is using Forwarding Rules

Above you have 3 network interface cards, (don't worry, PCI card can share
the IRQs)
In addition to the Network Level firewall, you can introduce Application
Level, the best on is SQUID
There are many ways, including Network Address Translation approach which is
more difficult for inexperience person (I think)
Enjoy your implementation, for more information you can read
IP-Masquerading-HOW-TO
:)

[Penguin] Linux Install Fest and Gathering

Hi guys,
I'm thinking of doing another BIG Linux Install Fest somewhere February
or March next year,
I need feedback from all of you such as what do you think regarding this
idea.
Please let me know is there still any demand for Install Fest, or this
Festival is getting boring?
For My-Linux, the last install fest was held at Subang Parade (May 1999)
if I'm not mistaken.
I'm thinking of giving away Linux Redhat 6.1 free during the install
fest for those who bring their PCs to be installed with Linux OS. The
condition is like this, you get free CD(sponsored by MLCC) and up to you
how much you are willing to give to My-Linux as a financial aid (RM1,
RM2, RM5, RM10... ?) "kira macam derma kat My-Linux la nie... "

As for My-Linux, I wonder if people want to have small gathering. Compaq
(Alpha Server), already give me the "green light" to use their Hall for
us to have this gathering and small seminar. Refreshment will be
provided (sponsored by Compaq :) )
By the way, for those of you who don't know, Compaq is located next to
CSA building Section 14, PJ.
Please provide me some feedback concerning this idea too.

As Linux is getting more popular, we should become more popular too
right? :) just kidding...

Any enquiry, please email direct to me at [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Thanks,
Abd Rahman Johari

 Hello

I'm looking to get a scanner (SCSI) and prefer if I
can use it under Linux (most of the time). Anyone here
have a scanner under Linux and what make/model is it?

 Any recommendations?

I use UMAX Astra 610S here, bought it at Imbi Plaza(RM500++), but if I'm
not mistaken, the scsi card that come bundle with it can't be configured
under Linux. I'm using Adaptec AHA1520 SCSI Adapter. Cost arround RM200++
if I'm not mistaken.

Please use StarOffice 5.1

SO 5.1 will look for glibc2.0.7 where in RedHat 6.0 has glibc2.1.? (lupa lak)
