And to be honest, 29.5 GB is not a LOT of bandwith if you'd compare it with what a download mirror serving DVD ISOs of linux dists would face. CPAN dists are really quite small on average, in comparison. Are all parts of metacpan.org CDN'ed and high-available, i.e. the CPAN mirror at https://cpan.metacpan.org ? -- Michiel
Re: MetaCPAN info...
Hi Leo, Any chance you could mention CPAN Testers to these companies? CPAN Testers will go away at the end of this year unless we have some sponsors soon. We did have a few companies approach us about sponsoring, but all have now gone quiet :( Thanks, Barbie. -- Birmingham.pm - http://birmingham.pm.org CPAN Testers - http://cpantesters.org YAPC Surveys - http://yapc-surveys.org Perl Jam - http://perljam.info On Wed, Feb 4, 2015 at 9:49 PM, Leo Lapworth wrote: > Hi, > > In regard to the 'HTTPS, CPAN, and dist integrity' thread. > > I work on the metacpan project... Perl QA Hackathon 2015 Berlin
Hi, we are in the last steps of organizing this year's Perl QA Hackathon. http://act.qa-hackathon.org/qa2015/ We are still searching for sponsors to make sure we can cover as much costs as possible. http://act.qa-hackathon.org/qa2015/budget.html We are aiming for about 30 participants. We filled a number of spaces by direct invitation to make sure we benefit from the experience of those who already attended previous hackathons. We have some spaces left now and would like you to join us. Please note that registration still should follow an invitation. So please contact me if you would like to come, along with a note about the project(s) you would like to work on. http://act.qa-hackathon.org/qa2015/wiki?node=Projects We need to be 90% sure how much hotel rooms we need by the end of this month. We hope we can make this a productive hackathon again, and the venue we booked will surely help us with that. http://act.qa-hackathon.org/qa2015/venue.html We have the workshop rooms exclusively for four days and people also can stay there after official working hours if they want. The hotel for the participants is only 200 meters from the venue. Lots of restaurants can be found in the neighbourhood of the venue. Please don't hesitate to ask questions. Also you might catch me on IRC.perl.org (tinita). Looking forward to your replies, tina
