[Perl-unix-users] An Error while installing the Time-HiRes-1.52.tar.gz

2003-12-16 Thread Bhanu Prasad

Hi I got a problem while installing the Time::HiRes
module in  my Linux Machine

i get an error while creating the makefile as
below

Configuring Time::HiRes...Looking for
gettimeofday()... found.Looking for setitimer()... found.Looking for
getitimer()... found. You have interval timers (both setitimer and
setitimer).Looking for ualarm()... found.Looking for usleep()...
found.Looking for nanosleep()... found. You can mix subsecond sleeps with
signals.
Writing Makefile for Time::HiResNow you may
issue 'make'.  Do not forget also 'make test'.NOTE: if you get an
error like this (the line number may vary):
Makefile:91: *** missing separatorthen set the
environment variable LC_ALL to "C" and retry.
Please tell me how can i solve the problem and how
to change the LC_ALL to "C".

thanks

I don't see an error. I see a note giving you the solution to a potential
error.

Did you try 'make'?

[Perl-unix-users] path returned is 'one level down', and Looking for right group to post this in

2003-12-16 Thread Harvey, Bruce T.
I've got just one (that I know of) problem getting a 64-bit version of perl
made on AIX 5.1 using IBM's C Compiler 6.0. The problem appears in the test
as follows:

lib/filepath.ok
lib/filespec.ok
lib/findbin..stat(/perl-5.6.1/t/lib/): A file or directory
in the path name does not exist. at ../lib/FindBin.pm line 164
stat(/perl-5.6.1/t/lib/): A file or directory in the path name does not
exist. at ../lib/FindBin.pm line 165 FAILED at test 1
lib/ftmp-mktemp..ok
lib/ftmp-posix...ok

The failure is that the location of the files being made is not
/perl-5.6.1/t/lib/, but /bth/perl-5.6.1/t/lib/. The path is being returned
without the leading '/bth.' I can't figure out where my best place to look
is as there are several files that could be involved (Cwd, etc.), nor
whether this is the best group for this question.

I'm grateful for any and all polite direction you may provide.

Many thanks in advance, and sorry for the long disclaimer (no control over
that).
