[Phono-L] Operaphone 1714

2010-07-08 Thread kt_06...@yahoo.com

I admit right up front that I am not 100% sure of this;  but I did listen to
American Patrol a few times.  A bit of research turnd up that Meacham wrote the
introductory melody.  The closing melody is the same...so was also written by
him.  I listened to Patrol and your recording quite a few times.  I would bet
that Meacham wrote the 2nd side melody as well...and I think if the tempo of
Patrol that I was able to listen to (not the GMiller version) were
accelerated,
it would be a similar melody to your side two...

Any way that is how is sounds to me.

Beware of the terrible sound you are about to hear!  If you know the song
name
that's great but I'm very interested in knowing the artist as well so would
need
to find someone who owns the disc, or perhaps this was on an earlier
Operaphone
like American Patrol was.

Thanks,
Glenn

The song is "Down South" . I have a Decca record of the song played by Milt
Herth.

2010-07-08 Thread Bob V.
I'm looking for a 14" aluminum horn for a Columbia AO. I believe reproductions
of this horn are being made but can't find the source. Does any one know where
I can get one? Thanks
