[Phono-L] Seeking information, please

2006-12-24 Thread blnaps...@aol.com
I recently saw a phonograph that looked all original. It had a large dark
wooden case with columns that were slightly separated from the case at each
corner. It had metal trim on all sides with a beautiful, large brass
rear-mount brass horn. The reproducer looked complete and original and the
name on it
was Dulcephone. There was also a serial number and Dulcephone name on a
plaque on the back of the machine.
Can anyone tell me anything about this machine?

  Thanks,

  Barry Napshin

[Phono-L] Victor 6 Scam....

2006-12-24 Thread blnaps...@aol.com
Neither of those two item numbers are presently on Ebay. This is so
upsetting. We have a collection that we will be offering and there is a Victor
VI
that we will be listing. It will be pretty hard to have any credibility on
Ebay.

Hi,

There are many ways to tell that you are an honest seller.

How many feedbacks do you have? Will you be able to send other photos if
they are requested? Do you want to be paid Western Union? Are you a member
of MAPS, CAPS, you can list this and also say that you are on phono-l in
your ad. If you get any serious inquiries and do not want to list your
e-mail in your ad you could send them you phone number and let them listen
to it over the phone. Is it an early one with brass or a later one with pot
metal at the top and bottom of the columns? (both of these are gold plated,
mine is the later pot metal ones)

Normally the phony sellers have no depth or feedback unless they are using
someone else's established name where they have stolen a password, and you
can write an ad in such way that you will have credibility, such as other
photos sent on request. I have dealt with these fraudulent sellers and I
can tell you your English and spelling is correct, something these guys
usually do not have. They cannot provide other photos or references and the
reason why these ads were pulled is that one man on the list recognized the
photos as the same ones as his friend used that was selling a Victor 6.

When this guy was written to he said he was with his mother in Europe so he
could not show the phono in Chicago where he claimed to live and his English
and spelling was horrible.

Steve
