Re: [Phono-L] Desperately Seeking Cylinder
The 2 minute cylinders made of the wax amberol wax are that way, but the regular ones are very durable. In 2015 all the 2 minute Edison cylinders will be over 100 years old and look at all of the ones still around. If the wax amberol wax was stored properly they are not that bad either. Those d#$n 2 minute wax cylinders... you could crack one by looking at it wrong or thinking about playing it. I love indestructibles... Curt ___ Phono-L mailing list http://phono-l.oldcrank.org

Yeah, but I reserve him for more important stuff. He's the best, but this record is worth maybe ten bucks and it could cost $35 to fix it, so I am better off finding another copy. --- On Mon, 4/11/11, bruce78...@comcast.net bruce78...@comcast.net wrote: From: bruce78...@comcast.net bruce78...@comcast.net Subject: Re: [Phono-L] Desperately Seeking Cylinder To: Antique Phonograph List phono-l@oldcrank.org Date: Monday, April 11, 2011, 7:33 PM have you considered sending it to the Cylinder Doctor?? - Original Message - From: john robles john9...@pacbell.net To: phono-l@oldcrank.org Sent: Monday, April 11, 2011 10:31:59 PM Subject: [Phono-L] Desperately Seeking Cylinder Hello all Sadly, I cracked one of my favorite cylinders tonight, and I am hoping someone can help me find a replacement. Re: [Phono-L] Desperately Seeking Cylinder
Was 10185 made of the brittle Amberol wax? A copy in Nauck's latest auction had long light hairline cracks.
