[Phono-L] Does this look fishy???

2007-11-15 Thread BruceY

Wow, certainly a deal that is too good to pass up!! Which is certainly what
the seller is hoping.

This looks fishy to me...a Regina Hexaphone for a buy it now of $3500 and
free shipping? A seller with no history, and preapproved bidders only? You
can't click the bidding buttons, and other things on the screen do not
look right yet it is on ebay!! Strange...

I agree that something is strange about the auction page. The Buy It now
button covers part of the normal screen. You can't even see the day and
time the auction ends.

This one scares me a bit. Fantastic deal though if it is real.

Yep. Oddly enough, the HTML block didn't show up on my Mac... I had to
go to a Windows machine to see what he's done. He created a stylesheet
overlay for the bid and buy it now buttons... fortunately, it's rather
sloppy work. The background color is off slightly and doesn't match up
with the page very well. Not to mention that he forgot to hyperlink
the button images ;) It appears to be coming from a server in the
Czech Republic.

Again, this shows up only on my Windows machine in both Firefox and IE.

eBay report this says that the auction number is either ended or not

I reported the auction to eBay -- there's a link at the bottom of every eBay
page in the other options section called report this item. And so I did!
I don't know if it was my report that had them take the auction down (you can't
get it even by item number any more), but at least it's not up there any more.
