Re: [Phono-L] Edison electrical DDs
Art and all: The two latest electrically recorded DD I have are 52627- Vaughn De Leath - I'd Fall in Love with me - and 52643 - Believe me that's love - sung Ernest Hare. I was told on one of the phono forums by this time DD were no longer recorded at 80rpm and were slowed down to 78rpm. So I played the records at the 78rpm on my turn table and the songs sounded better. Thanks Mike, But wasn't that actually recorded in Sept. and Oct. 1927? I'm going by Edison Diamond Disc Re-Creations, 1910-1929 The coupling supplement date(whatever that means) is Sept for R and Oct for L. . Then there is a cut out date of Oct 1929. I guess that is when it was cut out of the catalog. It's somewhat confusing. Re: [Phono-L] Edison electrical DDs
Art, You are right on all accounts. The Wile book is confusing too. I haven't played with records for years and w/o looking it up 1927 seemed early for Edison electrical. I confused it even more in my haste as I've been running all day. 3/12/29 is the cutout date Steve, Somewhere around here i have the two DD that have previous unknown labels and I don't remember if it was in the 80 or 82000 series. These two labels were included in Ron Dethlefson DD Book. Sorry I confused the issue, Mike S ___ Phono-L mailing list http://phono-l.org
