Re: [Phono-L] Edison model C question / identification?
A button on the front, under the carriage's straight edge, should be a repeater, not a shaver. Here's a link to an ICS Standard: http://www.collectorsworldwest.com/lookup.php?id=61 -- -Original Message- It looks like a regular Edison Standard when looking at the case. The ID plate indicates it is a model C ( don't recall if it says Standard): no gate: has what I would call an early model speed control knob at the left front of the bed-plate: has what I think is a factory "shaver" ( thumb button on the right) built on the cast part of the bed plate which the carriage rides across: ___ Phono-L mailing list http://phono-l.org

Re: [Phono-L] Edison model C question / identification?
I think it is. Does it have a little lever you press down to make the carriage move back a few threads? The carriage will have a series of grooves on it where it rides on the bedplate and the ICS attachment is right up front. You could also google a picture to compare with what you have. Or, post one here. Dave From: Bob Maffit To: 'Antique Phonograph List' Sent: Tuesday, February 25, 2014 10:35 PM Subject: Re: [Phono-L] Edison model C question / identification? Re: [Phono-L] Edison model C question / identification?
Sounds like it is. An ICS model C would have the speed control knob above the bedpalte. Are there holes on the straight edge for the repeating device??
