that's not true.

you can call a static method with the "::" notation.

like ClassName::method();

there's doesn't need to be an instance to do that.

not sure if that's true for all of PHP4 or just 4.04 or whatnot.

Well I meant class functions that do not need an object to be declared...
but don't worry about it - I found out. There are none in php.
