[PHP] cron not allowed
I have a php script I'd like to run at regular intervals, but my isp will not set a cron job for it but will for a perl script Is there anyway round tis, or does anyone one know of a perl script that might then execute the php script if I can get that to be automated? thanks -- PHP General Mailing List (http://www.php.net/) To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To contact the list administrators, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

RE: [PHP] cron not allowed
how did you plan on running php from cron? however you do that you could run a perl script that just makes a system call and does the same thing -Original Message- From: Caspar Kennerdale [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Tuesday, November 13, 2001 9:04 AM To: Php-General Subject: [PHP] cron not allowed I have a php script I'd like to run at regular intervals, but my isp will not set a cron job for it but will for a perl script Is there anyway round tis, or does anyone one know of a perl script that might then execute the php script if I can get that to be automated? thanks -- PHP General Mailing List (http://www.php.net/) To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To contact the list administrators, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- PHP General Mailing List (http://www.php.net/) To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To contact the list administrators, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

thanks jonwas more of a 'how are you going to' rather than 'how is it possible' :-) either way, from lynx or from php being a cgi a simple shell script or perl script should be able to make the appropriate call... jack -Original Message- From: Jon Haworth [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Tuesday, November 13, 2001 9:29 AM To: 'Jack Dempsey'; [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: [PHP] cron not allowed how did you plan on running php from cron?
