http://www.roundcube.net/ I can't say enough good things about the roundcube project. Ajax-based, like a desktop email client in a browser. Still got some minor bugs, but works pretty well. [PHP] Webmail and mime
Hi I'm creating a webmail interface for a pop3-server (I know weird to do webmail with pop3, but it's for a running server which I can't control. So pop3 it is and caching the mails in a mysql database). I've implemented the pop3-support myself since the one in www.php.net/imap lacks a lot of basic pop3 features like uidl support. Anyway I've hit a wall trying to add support for receiving attachments. I'm not sure how to handle it. The imap_fetchstructure call doesn't seem to be useful for me, since I can't send it text but only an imapstream. I tried the pear projects mimeDecode class and it worked fine. But the only thing it returns was the structure (like it will return an array with info like one mime part plain text, one part image, etc.) and not the content. I don't get the actual text and the actual image. Any ideas of how I can get the content split up in neat pieces? I've probably just missed something obvious in www.php.net/imap or the pear mail classes. Because I guess there are a function that does this. I need this running nw. So I'm sort of desperate. I'm taking a survey of Webmail Solutions at: http://l-i-e.com/compare/ It's a crude grid of Solution and Feature with user-voted ratings. If you love a particular solution and care to vote, have at it. If you think I've missed some crucial feature, add it. If you think I've missed some wonderful solution, add it. There's nothing to stop you other than you honor if you want to vote a zillion times for anything. I did get rid of some idiot's JavaScript kiddie hack. Sigh. Do something nice and free for people, and what do you get? I have a vested interest in finding the features I've pre-populated, but it's an Open Resource for all to use to add features and solutions to the grid and let the buyer decide which features are important to them. Thus, there is no final score nor average score across feature-comparisons -- which would be meaningless unless you thought all features everybody liked were equally important. Nor do I stop taking the survey at any particular point in time -- As with the other surveys (see bottom of page), you can add/vote at any time. Perhaps some day I'll provide visitor-flexibility to rank features and compute a weighted score. Not today. Maybe I'll even make it look pretty. Not this year. I need that that my webmail can send mail with many attach. How can I do it? You could either ask the user how many attachments they want, and present that number of INPUT TYPE=FILE fields, or you can grab the file attachment from the user, store it in a uniquely-named temporary directory, get another, and another, and store them all in the temp directory until the user says right, that's it at which point you read all the files in your directory and send them as attachments. You've got the code right for sending one attachment, sending mutliples is just another loop in the email assembly code. Dear all can I view a pop3 mail account without using IMAP? Basilix. I'm using it right now- configured to use Apple's imap server (iTools) Anyway, Basilix is incredibly good, allows for https if user wishes, easy to configure. Requires imap functionallity in your php, and only works with imap servers. The imap server it connects to need not be on the web machine, nor does the sendmail server. It does use MySQL, but he's working on a Postgresql option too. [PHP] php/webmail question
Hi, I am writing a webmail in php using pop3 as the ones I downloaded do not do what I want. Assuming I am able to connect and get the list of messages and sizes. Now I have a couple of attachments on some mails. When I read the message it just displays the base64 encoded message (trying to build on rymo webmail rymo.sourceforge.net). I did the following: I check if the Content-Type is MULTIPART and got the BOUNDARY but don't know how to proceed from there on. How do I read the body of the message seperating each attachment and giving an option do download or view (something like squirrelmail).
