Well spamming doesn't get them any money. I believe I read they use this info to transfer money from your bank account, after convincing you to scan your passport for them, or something like that. Most interesting to me is that this scam is so widespread (a sign that it is successful) that the FBI has stationed some agents in Nigeria solely for the purpose of dealing with this scam.
