 I have a form like this:
 form action=search.php method=post target=_self
 input type=text name=search_text cols=20 rows=10/input
 input type=submit name=submit_search value=search /
 /form

 while this is working fine, I would like the url of search.php to be
 something like search.php?q=value+of+search_text
 eg, if I enter php rules in my text box, the url should be
 http://myfakepage.com/search.php?q=php+rules;
 any idea how to do that?

The EASIEST way is to change post to get and to rename
search_text to q
