Re: [pinhole-discussion] New to the list with a question

Welcome to the list. I have made a camera like your idea but with 120 film. The
problem is making the advance system and arc. I copied the advance mechanism
from Beseler 6x9 cardboard camera and made my body and arc out of 4 and 8 ply
black core mat board. For the arc of a 35 mm camera you might try 1 inch PVC
pipe. You would need to cut it in half length wise and then cut an aperture to
allow the film to show through. For advancing I would borrow an idea from 120
film users and wind up onto a reloadable 35 mm cartridge so that when you come
to the end you don't need a way to rewind it. Good luck. I have never seen any
real plans anywhere, I just borrow from others designs. Check out Kurt
Mottweiler 120 camera at http://www.cnsp.com/mdesign/current.htm , it gave me
ideas for my camera

 Hello all,

I have looked through some of the archives but have not found anything
related to what I am interested in doing.

I am building a super wide angle camera (using 35mm film) where the film
doesn't lie flat. Rather, the film will be curved such that each point on
the negative is close to equidistant from the pinhole.

I am having a blast making up the design as I go. Perhaps it will even work
when I am finished. In the meantime, I was wondering if anyone is aware
of plans for building a camera of this sort.

 Thanks,

Well, I've made numerous cameras out of coffee cans, where the same idea is
employed. My general modus operandi is to just go ahead and make something.
If it doesn't work the way I want, I either fix it or throw it away. g
