The sound starts playing like a broken record(repeating sound), and restarting X (Ctrl+Alt+Backspace) doesn't work. The only option is to do a hard reboot (reboot button on the physical computer), or by sending a sysreq through holding Alt+SysRq and typing REISUB. No errors are reported in the sys log. Attached are the outputs of lscpi -v and my xorg.conf. I have been unable to check trem status from terminal as my system is unusable after the freeze. When I try to run it, I cannot install from that program at all, selecting the program works to a degree, when I select it, it appears in the right hand pane, but then it immediately changes focus to something that's not visible in the program from the program select screen. To get it to highlight anything for longer than a millisecond I have to click and hold on the item in question in the left hand pane with all the programs listed, afterwards it leaves the dotted line box as if focus changed off the page or area to something else. I know I'm playing with fire and tinder here, what with it being an Alpha plus trying to muddle about with debian packages, but it's still (what I presume it to be) a glitch in the program that it cannot install from the GUI front-end.
