I have suffered this recently while working on a new version of
google-cloud. Some stupid rules that golang wants to enforce..

The first thing I'd say is that you should remove the vendoring, both
libraries you mention are already packaged!

I would say that upgrading this package to the latest release much easier. I
saw that there is a new release, version v2.16.10, that contains my patch.
That would be ideal.

Hmm, this is a patch I just cherry picked from upstream. Thomas created it.
I understand that ClockTicks is not defined by architecture anymore, but
defined on Linux for all archs (process_linux.go).

Great to see prometheus remaining in main by removing dependency on
libjs-handlebars.

Any blockers to this upload? I'd like to reupload the libjs-handlebars
package in experimental to unstable once you upload prometheus without
libjs-handlebars dependency.

This will allow me to move ruby-handlebars-assets to contrib from
non-free as node-handlebars provided by libjs-handlebars source package
currently in experimental provides source code for ruby-handlebars-assets.
