I've signed the package and uploaded it to main. Great work, Barry.

I just talked with ftp-master. Your upload is broken. When moving
packages to main you need to include the orig.tar.gz in the upload.

ALWAYS.

Sorry for being so lout but this hit us already 20 times.

Up to 0.20.5, fop can use JAI (Java Advanced Image) API instead of Jimi
to support image format such as PNG. However after I had installed JAI,
fop couldn't find it, it complained of

[INFO] JAI support was not installed (read: not present at build time).
Trying to use Jimi instead
Error creating background image: Error creating FopImage object
(http://docbook.sourceforge.net/release/images/draft.png) : Jimi image

I need to download official fop.jar (xml.apache.org) to overwrite it.
Therefore, it works.

Bug#333884: ftp.debian.org: Please remove libapache2-mod-jk2 from archive

2005-10-14 Thread Wolfgang Baer
Package: ftp.debian.org
Severity: normal

Hi ftp-masters,

the pkg-java maintainers request the removal of libapache2-mod-jk2
package (source and binary) from the archive.

Reason:
Deprecated upstream, no longer in development
superceeded by the newly build libapache2-mod-jk binary package
(built from libapache-mod-jk source package), RC buggy

The superceeding binary package is now built on all
architectures and scheduled for testing propagation tonight.

Thanks,
Wolfgang

org.apache.fop.fonts.apps.TTFReader is useful for creating font metrics

First off, you might as well close 300884. There is no sense
keeping a bug report about me whining about documentation open
 for 200+ days.

I've just upload a package with your readme file.

This sort of relates to 292656, which is a bit older.

I've created a wrapper script for fop-ttfreader (and a manpage)

A lot of applications I have here can find the Palatino font which
I have installed. Fop is not one of them. The time has come
where I need fop to be able to use Palatino (if it can).

So, unless you get back to me soon about some already provided
functionality (I can't find anything), I am going to write a perl
script to ask defoma for a list of font files, and then for the
type1 and TrueType fonts in that list (which I expect is all of
them?), I am going to use TTFReader to build a fop font metrics
file for each font found, and a userconfig.xml file. I would
imagine such a global config file should be in the system some
place, but I have no idea where it should go. But, once this is
done, I'll send you a copy.

If you need an application to convert ttf to xml, then, you can use
fop-ttfreader, otherwise, you can work on your script and I could
integrate it in fop if it's useful.

Does this sound reasonable/useful? Any input you think might be
 handy?

Thanks for your work,

Bug#249900: libapache2-mod-jk2 will be removed from the archive

2005-10-14 Thread Wolfgang Baer

Hi all,

libapache2-mod-jk2 will be removed from the archive as
it is abandoned upstream and superceeded by mod-jk.

mod-jk packages for apache2 are now provided by the
libapache2-mod-jk binary package on all architectures
and will show up tomorrow also in etch.

Regards,
Wolfgang

Your package contains new components which requires manual editing of
the override file. It is ok otherwise, so please be patient. New
packages are usually added to the override file about once a week.

You may have gotten the distribution wrong. You'll get warnings above
if files already exist in other distributions.
