Bug#822449: Removed package(s) from unstable

2016-05-05 Thread Debian FTP Masters
We believe that the bug you reported is now fixed; the following
package(s) have been removed from unstable:

geronimo-javamail-1.4-spec |1.7.1-3 | source
libgeronimo-javamail-1.4-spec-java |1.7.1-3 | all

--- Reason ---
ROM; No longer used, replaced by javamail
--

Note that the package(s) have simply been removed from the tag
database and may (or may not) still be in the pool; this is not a bug.
The package(s) will be physically removed automatically when no suite
references them (and in the case of source, when no binary references
it). Please also remember that the changes have been done on the
master archive and will not propagate to any mirrors until the next
dinstall run at the earliest.

Packages are usually not removed from testing by hand. Testing tracks
unstable and will automatically remove packages which were removed
from unstable when removing them from testing causes no dependency
problems. The release team can force a removal from testing if it is
really needed, please contact them if this should be the case.

We try to close bugs which have been reported against this package
automatically. But please check all old bugs, if they were closed
correctly or should have been re-assigned to another package.

Thank you for reporting the bug, which will now be closed. If you
have further comments please address them to 822...@bugs.debian.org.

Dear Maintainer,

The package fails to build frequently on various builders. It makes bad
assumptions about ports, and about the performance of the machine it's
running on. It also shows no real details in the log:

[junit] Running org.apache.commons.net.tftp.TFTPTest
[junit] Tests run: 6, Failures: 0, Errors: 0, Skipped: 0, Time elapsed:
10.114 sec
[junit] Running org.apache.commons.net.time.TimeTCPClientTest
[junit] Tests run: 2, Failures: 0, Errors: 1, Skipped: 0, Time elapsed:
1.031 sec

BUILD FAILED
/libcommons-net2-java-2.2/debian/maven-build.xml:323: Test
org.apache.commons.net.time.TimeTCPClientTest failed

Total time: 59 seconds

The tests in this "time" package don't look great, and don't look like
they can be made reliable. Perhaps disabling them is the best plan?

https://sources.debian.net/src/libcommons-net2-java/2.2-2/src/test/java/org/apache/commons/net/time/TimeTCPClientTest.java/#L35

(The Reproducible Builds jenkins has found other problems, but they're
probably timezone related; will investigate separately.)

Hi.

Please upload the attached patch or authorize me to do a team upload.
The patch adds the shipping of a pom.xml file to the package, which
helps reverse dependencies that compile with maven.

Thanks, Gio.

You will have to package all build-dependencies as separate Debian
packages if they are not already available. Downloading dependencies at
build time from untrusted repositories is not allowed in Debian.

Strictly speaking, Eclipse Tycho is just a set of Maven plug-ins and
(just a wild guess) not that hard to package.

The much bigger problem is p2 repositories that Tycho uses to download
dependencies from. These dependencies are OSGi bundles and should be
packaged first, right?

Bug#823509: maven-debian-helper: no longer finds apt-file with current version of maven

Dear maintainer,

mh_make looks for /usr/bin/mvnDebug, but the maven package no longer
contains that directly, at least not in a way apt-file understands.
The attached patch makes mh_make look for bin/mvnDebug instead.
