[Pkg-javascript-devel] Bug#768754: backbone: FTBFS in jessie: build-dependency not installable: phantomjs
Hi wordpress maintainers, Andrey Rahmatullin wrote (12 Nov 2014 18:20:30 GMT) : On Sun, Nov 09, 2014 at 06:10:57PM +0100, Felix Gruber wrote: phantomjs is currently not in jessie due to two RC bugs (#679759 and #699435). ... and thus it won't be in jessie at all. wordpress build-depends on libjs-backbone (built by the backbone source package) which itself build-depends on phantomjs. phantomjs was removed from testing more that two years ago. It has * an open security issue (CVE-2013-4549) * FTBFS on kfreebsd (#679759, which isn't RC anymore) * so many embedded code copies (#699435) that the security team doesn't want to see it in a stable release as long as it's using a copy of QT I don't see how we can fix this situation in time for Jessie. How important is wordpress' build-dependency on libjs-backbone? Can it be removed? Source: backbone Version: 0.9.10-1 Severity: serious Tags: jessie sid User: debian...@lists.debian.org Usertags: qa-ftbfs-20141108 qa-ftbfs Justification: FTBFS in jessie on amd64 Hi, During a rebuild of all packages in jessie (in a jessie chroot, not a sid chroot), your package failed to build on amd64. Relevant part (hopefully): ┌──┐ │ Install backbone build dependencies (apt-based resolver) │ └──┘ Installing build dependencies Reading package lists... Building dependency tree... Reading state information... Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable distribution that some required packages have not yet been created or been moved out of Incoming. The following information may help to resolve the situation: The following packages have unmet dependencies: sbuild-build-depends-backbone-dummy : Depends: phantomjs but it is not installable E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages. apt-get failed. The full build log is available from: http://aws-logs.debian.net/ftbfs-logs/2014/11/08/backbone_0.9.10-1_jessie.log A list of current common problems and possible solutions is available at http://wiki.debian.org/qa.debian.org/FTBFS . You're welcome to contribute! About the archive rebuild: The rebuild was done on EC2 VM instances from Amazon Web Services, using a clean, minimal and up-to-date chroot. Every failed build was retried once to eliminate random failures. ___ Pkg-javascript-devel mailing list Pkg-javascript-devel@lists.alioth.debian.org http://lists.alioth.debian.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/pkg-javascript-devel
