[Pkg-kde-extras] Bug#487215: kvpnc prevents kde from shutting down, when pptp connection not closed
Package: kvpnc Version: 0.9.0-1 Severity: important I use kvpnc to connect to a pptp server. I start it using kde's session saving feature (ie. restore saved session on kde startup to get kvpnc runing). Through 'ps' I get the commandline for related processes are: kdesu -u root -- kvpnc -session 101e92251c5f20001191128587004009_1203742614_95508 kvpnc -session 101e92251c5f20001191128587004009_1203742614_95508 /usr/sbin/pppd call kvpnc.127 kdesu is used so that pppd can make the call. The problem is: when I shutdown (reboot/halt) with kde menu, kde won't quit if kvpnc is still connected. That menu item won't show shutdown dialog for another time, thinking it's already shutting down. In this state I can still interact with X applications without a problem. And kvpnc won't do the disconnection or shutdown, even if I explictely ask it to do so. It may be related to permissions, since kvpnc and pppd is run by root. But this have not happend before. I encounter this problem only rencently. And I don't remember the actual day (which update) it comes to. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (1100, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.24-1-686 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=zh_CN, LC_CTYPE=zh_CN (charmap=GB2312) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages kvpnc depends on: ii gksu 2.0.0-5 graphical frontend to su ii kdebase-bin 4:3.5.9.dfsg.1-2+b1 core binaries for the KDE base mod ii kdelibs4c2a 4:3.5.9.dfsg.1-4core libraries and binaries for al ii libc62.7-10 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libgcrypt11 1.4.1-1 LGPL Crypto library - runtime libr ii libqt3-mt3:3.3.8b-5 Qt GUI Library (Threaded runtime v ii libstdc++6 4.3.0-5 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii menu 2.1.39 generates programs menu for all me ii module-init-tools3.4-1 tools for managing Linux kernel mo ii net-tools1.60-19 The NET-3 networking toolkit ii psmisc 22.6-1 Utilities that use the proc filesy kvpnc recommends no packages. -- no debconf information ___ pkg-kde-extras mailing list pkg-kde-extras@lists.alioth.debian.org http://lists.alioth.debian.org/mailman/listinfo/pkg-kde-extras
