Yes, it should, but given that the buggy version no longer existed when the
guidance package was build this appeared to be mood.

Upgrading python-kde4 indeed fixes the problem. Shouldn't
guidance-power-manager depend on a newer version then? Currently, no
version is specified.

This is the third attempt at posting this reply. Previous attempts
seem to have been swallowed by a spamfilter or something.

 guidance-power-manager requires a python module named kdecore, which is 
 included in python-kde4, but this does not apear in the PYTHONPATH by default:
