Package: liblustre
Version: 1.5.95-1
Severity: important

Hi,

The shared library liblustre.so is missing a soname, also the
soversion is not part of the shared library name, which will break
packages linking against it, by not picking the correct dependency
and by not avoiding to link at runtime if there's any ABI changes.

If the sole purpose of this shared library is to be preloaded into
binaries that are not prepared for it, then it does not make sense to
have the library under /usr/lib/.

regards,
guillem

When built in a clean sid chroot without libncurses5-dev installed,
lustre loses readline support. From my pbuilder log:

,
| checking whether to enable readline support... yes
| checking for readline in -lreadline... no
`

Adding libncurses-dev to Build-Depends should avoid this. However,
consider patching the upstream build system which erroneously believes
that ncurses is necessary for linking with readline.

Hi!

An incoming version of findutils drops the syntax of find -perm +0123,
which contradicts POSIX and thus has been deprecated since 2005. The
replacement is -perm /0123.

lustre uses it in one place, ./lustre/tests/sanity.sh

Please replace
! -perm +4 -printf '-I %f\n')
with
! -perm /4 -printf '-I %f\n')

Package: lustre
Version: 1.8.3-4
Severity: important
Tags: sid
User: peter.fritzs...@gmx.de
Usertags: no-add-needed

The package fails to build in a test rebuild on at least amd64 with
ld --no-add-needed. For details, please see:
http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel-announce/2011/02/msg00011.html
http://wiki.debian.org/ToolChain/DSOLinking

Ubuntu might have a patch for this issue, but unfortunately it was
not forwarded to Debian. Please have a look at
http://packages.qa.debian.org/lustre to see if an Ubuntu version for
this package exists, and if a fix is included in the Ubuntu diff.
