 Hello,
when I add attached file to music repository and run 'mpc update', mpd
will never stop updating database and uses 100% CPU forever (2 days for
sure). It is simply showing 'Updating DB...', nothing in log. I had this
file in my music repository for a long time, but it always worked. I'm
not sure after which update this bug occured, but I think it was only
 minor version number change.

This is a bug in libavformat that is being reported to me every day.

I fail to reproduce this bug with the avconv tool. What makes you think
that libavformat is causing this symptom?

Cheers,
Reinhard

Bug#664195: [vlc-plugin-jack] Resampling to JACK's sample rate doesn't work

2012-03-16 Thread Alex Volkov
Package: vlc-plugin-jack
Version: 1:2.0.0-0.1
Severity: normal

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---

Sound gets distorted when playing movies with audio sample rate different from
the one set with JACK (e.g. movie audio = 48000 vs. jack = 96000). Setting
jack's rate according to the movie or using ALSA audio output fixes the
problem, so it looks like some issue within the plugin. Stable version (1.1.3)
of the plugin seemed to work OK with different rates.

libva override disparity

2012-03-16 Thread Debian FTP Masters
There are disparities between your recently accepted upload and the
override file for the following file(s):

vainfo_1.0.15-2_amd64.deb: package says section is video, override says libs.

Please note that a list of new sections were recently added to the
archive: cli-mono, database, debug, fonts, gnu-r, gnustep, haskell,
httpd, java, kernel, lisp, localization, ocaml, php, ruby, vcs, video,
xfce, zope. At this time a script was used to reclassify packages into
these sections. If this is the case, please only reply to this email if
the new section is inappropriate, otherwise please update your package
at the next upload.

Either the package or the override file is incorrect. If you think
the override is correct and the package wrong please fix the package
so that this disparity is fixed in the next upload. If you feel the
override is incorrect then please file a bug against ftp.debian.org and
explain why. Please INCLUDE the list of packages as seen above, or we
won't be able to deal with your request due to missing information.

Please make sure that the subject of the bug you file follows the
following format:

Subject: override: BINARY1:section/priority, [...], BINARYX:section/priority

Include the justification for the change in the body of the mail please.

[NB: this is an automatically generated mail; if you already filed a bug
and have not received a response yet, please ignore this mail. Your bug
needs to be processed by a human and will be in due course, but until
then the installer will send these automated mails; sorry.]

Hi,

shouldn't this package be in a different section, not libs?
It only contains a binary plus documentation and no libraries.
At least deborphan gets confused about it and reports it wrongly.

For the curious: Why was the NPAPI plugin spinned off into a separate

It was an upstream decision to decouple the release of VLC from it's
NPAPI plugin. The NPAPI plugin cannot block a release of VLC this way.

libva override disparity

2012-03-16 Thread Debian FTP Masters
There are disparities between your recently accepted upload and the
override file for the following file(s):

vainfo_1.0.15-3_amd64.deb: package says section is video, override says libs.

Just a wild guess, can you perhaps try to encode to some other audio
codec than AC3? If the crash disappears, then we could at least narrow
down the issue.

Please try to reproduce the issue with a shortened version of the
 file.

I haven't been able to do this yet, since I don't know how to shorten
the MKV file and still have it be well-formed.

Well, without a testcase, I fear there is little we can do about this
issue, then.

Cheers,
Reinhard

Now that Audacity 2.0 has been released, could you ensure it is available

My thanks to the entire debian/ubuntu multimedia team. :-)

Sure, I can do this through oneiric-backports if you or someone else is
willing to install/run the test packages to make sure they work.
 Hi all, Micah,

I'd be interested in running the test packages on oneiric.

 Thanks,

 Jaska (aka astraljava @ irc.[freenode|oftc].net)

I'll file the bug, upload test packages, and subscribe you then.

intel-vaapi-driver override disparity

2012-03-16 Thread Debian FTP Masters
There are disparities between your recently accepted upload and the
override file for the following file(s):

i965-va-driver_1.0.16-1_all.deb: package says section is oldlibs, override says
libs.
i965-va-driver_1.0.16-1_all.deb: package says priority is extra, override says
optional.
libva-intel-vaapi-driver_1.0.16-1_amd64.deb: package says priority is optional,
override says extra.

Package: i965-va-driver
Version: 1.0.12-1
Severity: minor

The package description only says i965; this makes it rather hard to find out
whether a particular chipset is supported. For example the i915 packages
usually also support later models, including i945 and i965.

Judging from source code
http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libva/tree/i965_drv_video/intel_driver.h
it supports around 15 chipsets, including Sandybridge/Gen6, G4x/GM4x and
Ironlake? So I assume my N10 Integrated Graphics are not supported.

intel-vaapi-driver override disparity

2012-03-16 Thread Debian FTP Masters
There are disparities between your recently accepted upload and the
override file for the following file(s):

i965-va-driver_1.0.16-2_all.deb: package says section is oldlibs, override says
libs.
i965-va-driver_1.0.16-2_all.deb: package says priority is extra, override says
optional.
libva-intel-vaapi-driver_1.0.16-2_amd64.deb: package says priority is optional,
override says extra.
