Shouldn't this be avoided? Shouldn't Debian communicate the contrary on all pages? I just finished downgrading all of the packages that I had linked to debian-multimedia.org, and it was a painful and slow process. Not something I would wish on anyone. It started because I was innocently trying to install VLC and some other video software, and I ran into package conflicts with GNOME and several other packages. So could we update the first link and remove the reference debian-multimedia.org? With this it only has two, debhelper (= 8.1.3~) and build-essential of course. That pretty much means libdvdcss can be compiled on Debian down to old-stable (if backports is used) and Ubuntu oneiric. For supporting Ubuntu suites before oneiric, we could use a seperate branch and modify the install-css.sh script accordingly. -- ~ Andres ___ pkg-multimedia-maintainers mailing list pkg-multimedia-maintainers@lists.alioth.debian.org http://lists.alioth.debian.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/pkg-multimedia-maintainers
a tri-fold on graphics offerrings
Hi, While at northeast gnu/linux fest I have ran into Martin Owens (http://doctormo.deviantart.com/) who has made a nice tri-fold for Ubuntu to present at an anime conference: http://doctormo.deviantart.com/gallery/?offset=48#/d2kw8k5 http://doctormo.deviantart.com/gallery/?offset=48#/d2kw7d7 which presents inkscape, blender, gimp, etc. I thought to let you know about so you might like to reuse it for Debian tri-folder on an appropriate occasion -- it is under CC so adjustment should be easy -- pretty much s/Ubuntu/Debian ;-) only 1 package is now not present in Debian repos -- synfig, so the spot could be taken by another app ;) Cheers, -- =--= Keep in touch www.onerussian.com Yaroslav Halchenko www.ohloh.net/accounts/yarikoptic ___ pkg-multimedia-maintainers mailing list pkg-multimedia-maintainers@lists.alioth.debian.org http://lists.alioth.debian.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/pkg-multimedia-maintainers

libdvdcss-installer - Package to install libdvdcss

This is it's very own package that can be installed via apt (i.e. apt-get install libdvdcss-installer). Through maintainer scripts, it can install, remove, and purge libdvdcss whenever the installer is installed, removed, and purged. I got this idea from a package I use to maintain long ago (nvidia-cg-toolkit) which works in similar fashion. My idea was to upload this to Debian contrib. If it failed to get accepted still, the script itself can be installed and used along with libdvdread instead. Maintainer scripts could be setup for libdvdread to automatically install/remove/purge libdvdcss, though the issue here is that libdvdread is in main. libdvdread must not depend on libdvdcss being available at all. libdvdcss-installer can be found at http://anonscm.debian.org/gitweb/?p=pkg-multimedia/libdvdcss-installer.git Any comments/concerns? -- ~ Andres ___ pkg-multimedia-maintainers mailing list pkg-multimedia-maintainers@lists.alioth.debian.org http://lists.alioth.debian.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/pkg-multimedia-maintainers
