Renaming handbrake (was: Re: Processed: bug 693012 is forwarded to John Stebbins stebb...@jetheaddev.com)
On Nov 12 2012, Fabian Greffrath wrote: BTW, I have just desparately tried to install handbrake by running apt-get install handbrake. I juts forgot that both of our handbrake packages are suffixed with either -gtk or -cli. I find this rather unintuitive and would like to add a meta package that depends on handbrake-gtk | handbrake-cli. This would, however, bestow us another round through the NEw queue. Does anyone object? I would prefer the option of having a metapackage, even if for purely cosmetical/symmetry reasons. But whatever. As long as it works (and the users can find it), I'm OK. Bug#697463: zynjacku: lv2rack crashes with some plugins
Package: zynjacku Version: 6-4 Program is quite unstable, adding a few plugins, I get just after some loads: The program 'lv2rack' received an X Window System error. This probably reflects a bug in the program. The error was 'BadAlloc (insufficient resources for operation)'. (Details: serial 171731 error_code 11 request_code 53 minor_code 0) (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously; that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it. To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.) I could investigate further but I suppose the program deserves some update, though... ... git repo isn't very informative about their activity: http://repo.or.cz/w/zynjacku.git/shortlog And it seems like development may have ceased. Has anyone more infos about status/alternatives ? ___ pkg-multimedia-maintainers mailing list pkg-multimedia-maintainers@lists.alioth.debian.org http://lists.alioth.debian.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/pkg-multimedia-maintainers

Bug#697463: zynjacku: lv2rack crashes with some plugins
Hi 0 1, Quoting 0 1 (2013-01-05 16:43:14) Program is quite unstable, adding a few plugins, I get just after some loads: The program 'lv2rack' received an X Window System error. Please provide more context - i.e. which plugins it was that you loaded. I could investigate further but I suppose the program deserves some update, though... Why? ... git repo isn't very informative about their activity: http://repo.or.cz/w/zynjacku.git/shortlog Yeah, looks like that git is empty. Irrelevant for this bug, though. And it seems like development may have ceased. Again: irrelevant for this bug. Has anyone more infos about status/alternatives ? Here might be explanation why git is empty: http://linuxaudio.org/mailarchive/laa/2012/8/21/192325 Yes, it looks like Nedko abandoned all his lv2 projects. Maybe we should consider to remove them from debian in future if they become outdated. And it seems like development may have ceased. Again: irrelevant for this bug.
