Hi Günther,

thanks for submitting this bug report. Unfortunately, I'm unable to reproduce
it and nor are others in the pkg-multimedia team that I have spoken to. I've
heard of one other person who has seen this behaviour but I've not managed to
get additional details.

It would help if you were able to get a backtrace to work out where this was
coming from. There's a rosegarden-dbg package that you will definitely need and
I imagine you will need libqt4-dbg too.

https://wiki.debian.org/HowToGetABacktrace

thanks
Stuart

Bug#788609: libavutils: Please add channel support to AVFrame

2015-06-13 Thread Petter Reinholdtsen

Package: libavutil-dev
Version: 6:11.3-1
File: /usr/include/libavutil/frame.h
Severity: wishlist

Hi.

I am working on getting the bs1770gain program into Debian, and in the
process I discovered an incompatibility between libavutil-dev and
libavutil-ffmpeg-dev. The latter provide information about the auto
channels in an audio file, using AVFrame struct member channel_layout
and channels. These make it possible to handle surround audio.

There are also the new functions av_frame_set_channel_layout()
av_frame_get_channel_layout() av_frame_set_channels() and
av_frame_get_channels() needed for this.

Please consider porting this new API to libav from the ffmpeg library.

 Hi!

While working on the reproducible builds effort [1], we have noticed
that rumor could not be built reproducibly.

The attached patch just sets TZ to UTC when building the documentation.
Once applied, rumor can be built reproducibly in our current
 experimental framework.

That said, I'm not entirely convinced it's a good approach to patch build
systems individually like this, I'm wondering whether dh shouldn't set
TZ=UTC... still filing a bug so that we have a place to discuss this.
(So maybe this bug should be (cloned and) reassigned to debhelper.)

I think this should be either dpkg-buildpackage, or dpkg-dev should
add another make snippet exporting TZ.

/me does not want to get involved in the should we still support
running debian/rules by hand discussion, though.

Package: audacity
Version: 2.0.6-2
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

Version 3.0.x of wxWidgets is not supported by the Audacity codebase.
It does compile, but 3.0.x does not correctly emulate 2.8.x behavior.
Audacity, as compiled, will not let the user select the appropriate
inputs or outputs. These options are greyed out and inaccesible.

The problem at hand is that in Debian, the wxwidgets maintainers are in the
process of phasing out wxwidgets 2.8. Please see
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=749659 for the activity

wxwidgets is not included in jessie at all, see
https://wiki.debian.org/Teams/WxWidgets/Transition2.8to3.0, and it is also
scheduled to be removed from unstable.

This means that going back to wxwidgets 2.8 is not an option. I'm
therefore closing #781866 with this email. Still, it seems that audacity
provides a poor user experience with wxwidgets 3.0, and judging from
http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Incorrect_wxWidgets_Version, there is
still a lot of work to do here. I would recommend to direct feedback,
comments, and ideally patches, to the audacity developers.

Sorry.

Bug#788618: rumor: please support reproducible builds

2015-06-13 Thread Holger Levsen
Package: rumor
Version: 1.0.5-2
Severity: wishlist
Tags: patch
User: reproducible-bui...@lists.alioth.debian.org
Usertags: timestamps

(So maybe this bug should be (cloned and) reassigned to debhelper.)

cheers,
Holger

 Hi,
after today's upgrade which installed libnettle6 as dependency, i get

May be related to bug #788333:
 https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=788333

Yep, same as #787620 as well. It's caused by the fact that libnettle4 doesn't
provide symbols versioning so both libenttle4 and libnettle6 may get loaded at
the same time.

To fix this you should make sure that packages that use nettle are updated, in
particular libgnutls-deb0-28.

Since mpv doesn't depend directly on nettle or gnutls (they are pulled in due
to other packages), there isn't anything I can do about this.

Cheers
