2016-05-06 Thread trebmuh

Dear maintainers,

I'm just adding a +1 on this one. I did rebuild (using pbuilder)
monobristol with the patch mentionned above (on a debian Jessie), and
that's wonderful to hear those 4 synth/piano sounding !

Just adding my voice here trying to get some interest.

I'm copying the multi mediateam as well since they could have some
interest in providing this new build.

Oh my, this is embarrassing! As I mentioned before my chroot uses the
following:
OTHERMIRROR='deb http://security.debian.org/ jessie/updates main | deb
http://debian.ec.as6453.net/debian/ jessie-backports main | deb
[trusted=yes] file:/usr/src/repo/amd64 ./'

It seems I backported libsndio in a fugue state Feb 9th! I found a
libsndio-dev_1.0.1-2~bpo8+1_amd64.deb in my local repo. I can't find
an email notification from debian-mentors saying I uploaded it, so my
conclusion is that this was leftover cruft from when I just starting
out. You have my sincerest apologies. I've just purged that repo and
uploaded a bpo of libsndio to mentors.

In the interest of preventing future mistakes, could someone please
reply to my git question from the following email:

I reproduce the same failure as Hanno, also on x64:

 /usr/bin/ld: ../../external_libraries/libtlsf.a(tlsf.c.o): relocation
R_X86_64_32S against `.rodata' can not be used when making a shared

adding said -fPIC flag to tlsf target continues until:

Bug#823593: liblivemedia FTCBFS: uses build architecture compiler

2016-05-06 Thread Helmut Grohne
Source: liblivemedia
Version: 2016.04.01-1
Tags: patch

Dear multimedia maintainers,

I tried cross building liblivemedia for armhf and noticed that it was
using the build architecture compiler instead of the host architecture
compiler. You can find a failing build log for ppc64el at
https://subdivi.de/~helmut/debomatic-logs/liblivemedia_2014.01.13-1_ppc64el.build

Since liblivemedia does not use autoconf or similar, debhelper does not
take care to supply the compiler automatically. In this particular case,
setting up CC and CXX is sufficient to getting the build working. I am
attaching a patch doing just that. Please consider applying it.

Bug#823589: mplayer: Please create dummy package for upgrades from jessie

2016-05-06 Thread Santiago Vila
Package: mplayer
Version: 2:1.2.1-1+b1

Dear maintainer:

It is customary that packages changing names should provide a dummy
package with the old name so that an upgrade makes the new package to
be installed smoothly and automatically. Smooth upgrades have always
been one of Debian's goals.

I know that this case is not exactly a "package rename" in strict
sense but a different codebase / different fork, but for most purposes
we can assume that whoever had mplayer2 installed in jessie will want
to have mplayer installed in stretch.

Ok, there may be little differences (I don't know the details), and it
is possible that mplayer is not a 100% drop-in replacement of mplayer2,
but that's what the Release Notes (for stretch) are for.

Thanks.

I tried now the very packages you uploaded there, and failed the same.
Some things:

root@chase:/build/audacious-plugins-3.7.2# ls
/usr/include/libroar/libroar.h
/usr/include/libroar/libroar.h
root@chase:/build/audacious-plugins-3.7.2# dpkg -S

root@chase:/build/audacious-plugins-3.7.2# aptitude why libroar-dev
i pbuilder-satisfydepends-dummy Depends libsndio-dev
i A libroar-dev Provides libsndio-dev

in sid there is a *real* libsndio-dev, but that package is not in
jessie. Instead, in jessie the only thing providing that package is
libroar-dev.

Which rises the question: do *you* a clean chroot?
My chroot is a simple jessie, + the jessie-bpo and the local repo added,
and the only things installed from outside jessie are the binaries built
by the locally backported audacious.
